Conspiracy theorists are almost assuredly going to show up in the comments of this story to try to say something witty or defend their ilk by saying something about everyone else being “sheep.”
If all of that sounds crazy to you, well that’s a good sign because you haven’t completely lost it, and don’t really know how far off the cliff we have gone in this country in 2023. Also, buckle up because you are about to find out, and this is one you probably never thought you would have to read.
But, no, Damar Hamlin did not die, and his body was not replaced by a clone.
Let that sentence sink in for a moment, and then consider that, yes, there are folks spreading this idea around the internet as we speak.
It’s not silly. It’s maddeningly dumb.
But here we are with Snopes, a website that aims to debunk or prove all of the wild rumors and theories spread across social media, having to make a whole post about whether or not Hamlin died and the Bills now have a body double for him.

Makes you miss the days of the alien conspiracy theories. Really, can we get back to that or some good ol’ Bigfoot tales? Someone in Pa., even said they saw one last year. Dive into that for a change.
Per Snopes, the rumor was that the Hamlin folks saw waving from a suite during Buffalo’s playoff game, really wasn’t Hamlin at all, but a clone or body double and that Hamlin had died from the COVID-19 vaccine.
There has been no connection between Hamlin, the vaccine and his cardiac arrest on the field — after being struck in the chest by Bengals receiver Tee Higgins on a play — several weeks ago. There was a “doctor” who went on social media and claimed to have given Hamlin a booster.
Turns out, that doctor was not a doctor at all.
Shocker.
Damar Hamlin even poked fun at this all by commenting “Clone,” on a photo of a mural someone painted of him.
So, hey, we’ve probably spent too much time on this one. Let’s wrap it up by just saying, don’t be a dumb-dumb. Damar Hamlin is alive. He still has a long road ahead of him, according to his reps, as he recovers. But the 24-year-old is a living, walking miracle.
Also, aliens, Big Foot, Bermuda Triangle … let’s get back to the good old days.
