How flat-out mum-of-four and business mogul uses Airtasker for everything from delivering orange juice to her home to making sure her house is decorated for Christmas
- Sydney mother of four, with twin newborns, says new Airtasker app is a lifesaver
- Christine Kotsis is time poor and uses the service three to four times a week
- The Airtasker app provides an estimation of what a service will cost to complete
- The services can range from moving a fridge to transporting furniture or signage
A Sydney mum-of-four has revealed the one way she finds time to juggle raising kids while also running a successful yacht business.
Christine Kotsis, 36, works full-time in events and manages boat business Sydney Harbour Bespoke Events all while juggling four children, two of whom are just one-month-old and spoke about using Airtasker to handle her chores and odd jobs.
‘I run a luxury yacht hire business and in a week in summer we could have 20 events so it just helps with tasks for that as well as personally,’ Ms Kotsis told Daily Mail Australia.
‘The other week I had a really large custom sign that had to be transferred by a van so I took to Airtasker and within 30 minutes I had more than ten options of people willing to do the job.
‘I am really time poor so it is just a lifesaver, especially when as a mother of four with two twins who are a month old and the other two who are in school, I am constantly juggling and it just makes my life that little bit easier.’
Ms Kostis said she’s even used Airtasker to get her cot built, her house clean, have orange juice delivered and is even using it to get her Christmas tree and decorations put up.
Christine Kotsis (pictured) is a businesswoman by day and mother of four with two newborns by night, and she says the new Airtasker app is making all the difference
The mother of four says she uses the app around 3-4 times a week for things ranging from business needs to assembling furniture, mowing lawns and even delivering orange juice
In August, Airtasker launched its Airtasker Services calculator, providing users with an estimation of what a job will cost.
The Sydneysider said she uses the app for everything, from organising event signage for her business to assembling furniture, mowing lawns and even delivering orange juice.
‘Week to week over summer I would use it three to four times, whether that was for business stuff or even helping around the house like getting gardening or lawns done,’ Ms Kotsis said.
‘Prior to the app I would often just guess how much a task is worth and I am sure so many times I overpaid to get it done, so now it gives me peace of mind that I am paying the right price.’
Airtasker is a service where people allocate a budget for odd jobs like moving a fridge or transporting furniture.
Their new services calculator is a tool that estimates how much it will cost to get tasks done by calculating the average task price based on Airtasker’s marketplace and then adding the tasker’s fee.

From couriers to gardeners, cleaners, removalists, and everything in between, users can select from 55 different options to calculate a service price.
Co-founder and CEO of Airtasker Tim Fung said with a shortage of skilled workers labour prices have been driven up and the app takes the guesswork out of what a service costs.
‘The severe shortage of skilled workers has driven up costs across the board, with many people now not sure what is a fair price to pay for services,’ Mr Fung said.
‘Australians are proactively looking for ways to drive efficiency in their lives and this Services Calculator makes it easier for people to plan and budget for their next project.
‘The top categories customers have been booking Taskers for includes removalists, gardening, cleaning, handywork, waste disposal, furniture assembly, pick up and delivery, plumber and copywriting.’
