The daughter and granddaughter of late Coronation Street star Johnny Briggs have appeared in court charged with attacking two women for £20.
Karen Briggs, 53, and her daughter Emma Beach, 34, are accused of assaulting Sophia Walton and Amanda Gaye on October 25. The pair also allegedly stole £20 from Ms Gaye.
They appeared in the dock at Guildford Crown Court where they denied charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault and theft.
The mother and daughter were granted conditional bail and were ordered not to contact the two alleged victims. They have also been banned from entering Surrey except to attend court, probation service appointments and to visit hospital.
Their trial was set for October 16 next year.

He appeared in 2,349 episodes of the long-running soap before leaving Coronation Street in 2006.
The actor passed away on February 28 last year at the age of 85 following a long illness. The next day’s episode of Coronation Street was dedicated to him.
