Police release CCTV of two young women in hunt for thieves who stole £2,000 lifesavings from handbag of 86-year-old victim while she was out shopping

Police have released pictures of two young women wanted after an elderly woman had her lifesavings stolen in a busy city in broad daylight.
The 86-year-old victim believes she was followed into a bank where she withdrew £2,000 in cash and put it in her handbag.
She then left Lloyds Bank and walked to the Victoria Centre in Nottingham city centre at around 2pm on December 6. While she was in a shop, a woman approached her and asked if she could reach an item from the shelf.
The victim agreed but when she left the shop the pensioner realised the envelope containing the money was missing from her handbag.

Nottinghamshire Police have released CCTV images of two young women who are wanted in connection with the theft.
PC Madison Moss-Hayes said: ‘This was an appalling theft on an elderly victim who is very active and enjoys her regular trips into the city.
‘She has lost a considerable amount of money, which has understandably left her distraught.
‘We are doing everything we can to catch those responsible and bring them to justice. We have released images of two women we would like to speak to who could help us with our inquiries.
The theft took place in the Victoria Centre in Nottingham at around 2pm on December 6
‘If you know the two women or are the two women in the images, then please get in touch immediately.’
Police say the victim had taken a bus from Bulwell to Nottingham city centre at around 12.40pm before having a coffee. She then entered the bank in Lower Parliament Street at 2.12pm.
PC Moss-Hayes warned other bank users to be aware of people watching them withdraw large amounts of cash.
He said: ‘We would also like to appeal to anyone taking large amounts of money out of their bank to take precautions or try and avoid doing so.
‘Thieves will often use distraction tactics such as appearing like they need help with something or trying to befriend you in order to catch you off guard.’
