Police have arrested a teenager on suspicion of murder after a man was killed in an Oxford park yesterday.
The 59 year-old man was found with a head wound and in a critical condition beside a path in Wood Farm Park in the city at around six in the morning.
Officers arrived on the scene following reports of someone shouting for help.
An 18 year-old man has been arrested as part of a murder investigation by Thames Valley Police.
Police said the attack appeared to have been targeted and appealed for witnesses to help them in their investigation.
The park and surrounding streets remain closed while officers search the area.

Head of Criminal Justice and senior investigating officer, Detective Superintendent Craig Kirby, said: ‘We have launched a murder investigation after a man died this morning.
‘His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. Our thoughts remain with them at this most difficult time.
‘We are in the very early stages of this investigation, which appears to be a targeted attack.
‘We have arrested an 18-year-old man from Oxford on suspicion of murder and he remains in police custody.
‘I would ask anyone who may have information about this incident or was in the area at around 6am this morning to please contact us as soon as possible.
