Carrie Johnson has shared an adorable snap of her children Wilf and Romy laying out a mince pie for Santa and a carrot for Rudolph on Christmas Eve.

The adorable Instagram post, which showed three empty stockings, was captioned: ‘Huge excitement in this house this evening. Have a wonderful Christmas everyone.’

The former Prime Minister and wife’s two children were standing by a roaring fire with stockings hanging over it.

The couple’s two children, Romy, one, and Wilfred, two, were also seen to have put a mince pie on a plate for Santa and a carrot out for Rudolph.

The heartfelt message and photograph was liked by Priti Patel among numerous others.

It was just December 9 last year that Romy was born at the University College London Hospital and was named after Carrie’s aunt Rosemary.

Her birth came as pressure on Boris’s premiership and government began to mount after the Covid rule-breaking Christmas party scandals were revealed.

Earlier this month the family celebrated Romy’s first birthday by giving her a mountain of presents.

The little girl was also seen using a tricycle around the house.

Wilfred’s second birthday was celebrated earlier in April, which Carrie shared her disbelief about on Instagram.

The 34-year-old wrote: ‘I can’t believe Wilf is 2! My cheeky cherub. You are the most loving, hilarious little boy who makes us laugh every single day.

‘You are still totally car obsessed (‘car car’) and love all animals, particularly ‘dorrrgs’. You love being outside, especially if there are muddy puddles to splash in, and Dilyn (‘Dil Dil’) is there to chase.

‘You’re brave and affectionate and you give the best hugs. Thank you for making life so much better.’

But Christmas will be quite different for both children this year following Boris’s exit from No 10 in July.

Mr Johnson part-owns three homes in Oxfordshire, London and Somerset.

But the couple are soon to become the newest members of  Fulham set after looking for a property close to the river in South-West London.

Other homes nearby – which boasts outstanding schools and upmarket restaurants – go for more than £4 million.

He and Carrie have put the home they owned in Camberwell, South London, on the market for £1.6 million and it was under offer earlier this year.
