Alex Jones has filed for bankruptcy in an attempt to avoid having to pay the $1.3billion fine he owes the parents of the children murdered in the Sandy Hook massacre.
The Infowars host filed a Chapter 11 in Texas on November 30, just a few months after being told to pay $965million in compensation and an additional $473million in punitive damages.
He listed his assets as being worth between $1million and $10million and his debts between $1billion and $10billion.

Jones previously laughed off the judgements against him and said he’d never pay the fines imposed.
The internet TV host was sued for pushing a theory that the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre in which 27 students were murdered was a hoax.
During the trial, an economist testified that he and the company were worth $270million, and that he personally withdrew $61million from the business in 2021.
The $1billion judgement in Connecticut came after another trial, in Texas, where he was ordered to pay an additional $49million to the parents of the murdered children.
After the first judgement, he told his viewers to buy the products he flogs in order to keep him afloat.
‘If we don’t get solvent and get enough money to come out of this bankruptcy, they’ll appoint a receiver and start selling off the equipment,’ he said in an August broadcast.
He filed the Chapter 11 on Wednesday but no mention of it on his Infowars broadcast yesterday, where he invited disgraced rapper Kanye West onto the show and allowed him to spew anti-Semitic bile for nearly three hours.
Even Jones, who is no stranger to controversy, seemed uncomfortable with West’s rhetoric at times, but he continued to indulge him and boasted about the fact it was their most-watched show of the year.

West has now been banned from Twitter after posting a swastika inside a Star of David as his ‘campaign symbol’.
The mentally ill rapper had claimed he wanted to run for president in 2024.
Jones was ordered to pay the enormous fines in Connecticut in October after an extremely public defamation trial, where he was admonished by the families of some of the children who were murdered by school shooter Adam Lanza.
Jones had claimed on his podcast that the shooting was as ‘phony as a three dollar bill’ and that the grieving parents seen on news networks in the aftermath of it were ‘crisis actors’.
During the trial, he called it a ‘kangaroo court’ and said the entire case was an attack on free speech.
The trial judge froze Jones’ assets after imposing the fine.
Earlier this year, he was spotted still enjoying the high life with his wife in her family’s hometown of Omaha, Nebraska.
He owns multiple properties, including a $3million home on the outskirts of Austin.
